After completing a degree in Psychology at the prestigious and historic University of Coimbra in Portugal, where I also received a Master in Social Psychology, I then obtained a post-graduate diploma in Children and Young People Psychology in 2007.
Finally, I obtained a Level 5 certificate in Leadership and Management (Chartered Management Institute).
I started my career in 2006 as an Educational Psychologist in a technical school, supporting young people to find their own professional paths and overcome obstacles in building their confidence.
In 2016, I began to focus my work on people with behavioural addictions, providing them with cognitive behavioural therapy and other strategies to remove unhealthy and self-destructive habits.
Today, I am the service manager of a national leading provider of treatment for specific behavioural addiction in London.
While I continue to love my work and my amazing team, I missed the one-to-one relationship that came from my previous therapeutic work. There is no greater reward than enabling a person to change his or her life around in the direction that they want... hence being here today, offering you what I do best!
I strongly believe that self-awareness and self-management are key to happiness. And I know how difficult it can be to achieve this on your own.
Self-awareness involves the ability to see, understand and embrace perspectives and it is very hard to do so with the subjectivity that comes naturally in the way we go through life and cope with our personal challenges.
Self-management is the way we react to those challenges and how we learn and grow from them, becoming better versions of ourselves.
Managing our emotions and controlling the narrative of our lives are the biggest challenges of all.
I have a very pragmatic and analytic mind, but part of me also tends to believe things happen for a reason - that you are where you are supposed to be and that the things that happen to you are meant to take you where you should be, pushing you to become the person you are meant to be.
However, there are choices to be made and our personal goals come as a result of a combination of those choices.
My purpose is to support others making the right choices and to achieve the goals they set themselves.
I am 40 years old and was born and raised in the suburbs of Paris from Portuguese parents.
I lived most my life in Paris but also spent a few years in Portugal before moving to London in 2013.
I speak 4 languages, of which 3 fluently and I travel quite often to Paris and Portugal where my family members are living.
As a young adult I was quite the extrovert, a strong voice who would always get along with everyone and make connections easily.
As I grew older, I turned out to become more of an introvert, making the most valuable friendships I have count – quality over quantity!
I love reading, cooking, baking, movies, long walks in nature, snowy mountains, the sea, animals, skiing, yoga, sailing, travelling, exploring new places and regular visits at the countryside pubs with my loved ones.
